YN:
In a stirring opener on par with his Oasis shocker at Glastonbury, Hov paid tribute to MCA and the Beastie Boys (who he replaced on this show) with a remake of a classic from Licensed To Ill. It was a cover performance Hip Hop Honors wish they could have. Ha! Good job, Hov. Hey Village Voice, he was listening.

Raekwon x Snoop from The Wire x Angela Yee on Shade45 [Download]

Here’s Angela’s rundown of the events:

I had the great opportunity to sit down with Shallah Raekwon to discuss his “Only Built for Cuban Links II” album and we got into everything… and then some. The extremely entertaining interview is below, and it gets even crazier when Felicia “Snoop” Pearson from HBO’s “The Wire” joins in the conversation. So get ready for Rae’s candid opinions on RZA, the “8 Diagrams” album, some classic moments in Wu history, his feelings on homosexuality, and the Wu mansion. Oh, and best believe he still plans to release that Shaolin vs Wu-Tang album!

Listen here.

They also discuss the Joe Budden/Method Man beef, as well as RZA taking advantage of the situation (financially.) Salutes to TeamYee, you can read a couple choice quotes over there.

Raekwon Performs at NoiseMakers [Video]

Peter Rosenberg:
This may have been my favorite NoiseMakers yet. Not only did Raekwon drop gem after gem about the Wu and preview “House of Flying Daggers” off of Cuban Linx 2, but at the end of the show–he performed with the Cypher. This is Dallas Penn’s bootleg of that performance. FIRE! I’m sure there will be a lot more video to come later today.
